Drums
Mr. Robinson's band is a jazz quartet. A quartet means there are four instruments. Click on each instrument to hear what it sounds like.
Saxophone
Bass
Guitar
In jazz, sometimes the musicians improvise. That means that they don't play music that is already written. Instead, they make up the music as they play, working together to create a new song. Each instrument will get a solo where they will perform their improvisation or they can improvise together.
Play the instruments in different orders for different amounts of time to create your own original song!

Try it yourself!
Form your own jazz quartet by creating four different sounds–clap your hands, ring a bell, tap on a table, blow a kazoo, sing or try something else! Try to follow the same beat if you play with family and friends. Who knows, maybe with a little practice, Mr. Robinson will invite you to join his band!
Now let's hear Mr. Robinson's band play all together!
